Advent 1A: Opening Prayer

Sovereign God,

at your direction, we are keeping watch.

Lighten our tired eyes.

Lift our heads.

Give us hope in a world far from it.

So that we may live into the wonder and awe you inspire

Now and forevermore.

Amen.
